چکیده
Abstract Background Talaromyces marneffei ( T. marneffei) infection has been associated with adult-onset immunodeficiency due to anti-IFN-γ autoantibodies. We aimed investigate the clinical features of non-HIV-infected patients in southern China. Methods Between January 2018 and September 2020, we enrolled who were HIV-negative (group TM, n = 42), including autoantibody-positive TMP, 22) autoantibody-negative TMN, 20) healthy controls HC, 40). Anti-IFN-γ autoantibodies detected by ELISA. Clinical characteristics laboratory parameters recorded. Results Compared infection, did not have underlying respiratory disease; more frequently exhibited dissemination systemic infections severe pleural effusion; had higher WBC counts, C-reactive protein levels, erythrocyte sedimentation rates, neutrophil CD8 + T cell counts; lower hemoglobin levels; likely other intracellular pathogen infections. Most these poor outcomes despite standardized antimicrobial therapy. Conclusion -infected autoantibody titers disease complex conditions.

Disseminated Talaromyces marneffei and Mycobacterium abscessus in a Patient With Anti-Interferon-γ Autoantibodies
Anti-interferon (IFN)-γ autoantibodies are increasingly recognized as a cause of adult-onset immunodeficiency and increased risk for infections with intracellular pathogens. We report on disseminated Talaromyces (Penicillium) marneffei and Mycobacterium abscessus infection in a 72-year-old, human immunodeficiency virus noninfected, Thai man with anti-IFN-γ autoantibody. The patient was successf...
متن کاملClinical features of three patients with paradoxical immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome associated with Talaromyces marneffei infection
Talaromyces marneffei infection is a major cause of death in HIV-infected individuals in South and Southeast Asia. Talaromycosis immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome has not been well described. Here we report the clinical features, management, and outcomes of three HIV-infected patients with talaromycosis-associated paradoxical immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome in Ho Chi Minh ...
متن کاملComparison of Talaromyces marneffei Infection in Human Immunodeficiency Virus-positive and Human Immunodeficiency Virus-negative Patients from Fujian, China
BACKGROUND Talaromyces (Penicillium) marneffei (TM) is an emerging dimorphic human pathogenic fungus that is endemic to Southeast Asia. TM mostly occurs as an opportunistic infection in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The objective of this study was to compare the clinical and laboratory parameters of patients with TM infections who were HIV-positive and HIV-negative and to as...
